Broken Phone Screen Repair Cost: Check Your Exact Model

There is no single reliable price for repairing a broken phone screen. The exact model, damaged parts, repair provider and any applicable cover affect the estimate. Before booking a repair, identify the handset and compare a written repair estimate with your plans for keeping or selling it.

Find out what is damaged

A cracked outer surface, an unresponsive touchscreen and a display with lines or black patches are different symptoms. Describe what you can see and whether touch still works. Include damage to the frame or rear cover and any charging, camera or battery problems.

Tell the repair provider about earlier repairs and any liquid exposure. A screen estimate may change if inspection reveals other work. Avoid ordering parts or choosing a repair solely because another phone looks similar to yours.

Start with the manufacturer's estimate

Apple's UK iPhone repair page lets you select the device and model for service estimates. Apple says inspection is needed for a personalised estimate, and authorised service providers can set their own fees.

Samsung's UK screen repair page provides model-specific recommended costs. Its guidance explains that additional work can change the price. Check the repair option and what the estimate includes.

For Pixel phones, use Google's UK repair estimator. Google confirms final costs after inspection and notes that authorised providers set their own fees. These tools are more useful than an undated price for a different model.

Ask what the full repair includes

Request a written estimate stating the parts being replaced, labour, any delivery or inspection charge, and the repair warranty. Ask how the provider handles additional faults and whether you must approve a revised cost before work begins. Confirm the expected turnaround and parts availability.

If you have insurance or a service plan, check its current coverage, excess and claim conditions directly. A covered repair and an out-of-cover repair are different comparisons. Keep any repair record, as a later buyer may ask about replacement parts.

Decide whether repairing suits your plans

If you want to keep the phone, consider the complete repair cost alongside its battery, software support and other faults. Repairing one part may be sensible, but it does not address every problem with an ageing handset.

If you plan to sell, compare a faulty-device assessment with the likely sale outcome after paying for repair. A repair bill does not automatically produce an equal increase in resale value. Ask for both assessments before committing to work.

You can enquire about selling it with the fault

Use EXE's phone enquiry form and describe the damage, model, storage and whether it starts and charges. We assess each enquiry personally and confirm whether we can buy the device. There is no obligation to sell.

Back up accessible information and follow the manufacturer's preparation instructions. Tell us if the broken screen prevents account removal or data preparation. Arrange handover before sending anything; payment follows inspection and agreement of the offer.
